Éléments, du grec adelphos « jumeau », formateurs d'adjectifs en botanique, en tératologie, qui expriment l'idée d'une réunion, normale ( Diadelphe, monadelphe, polyadelphe, triadelphe) ou accidentelle (déradelphe [deʀadɛlf]  : se dit d'un monstre composé de deux individus réunis par le cou), d'organes de même fonction, d'êtres de même espèce.
REM. La forme adelphe, présentée comme adj. par certains dict., à partir du Complément du dict. de l'Académie (1838-1842) ne semble pas attestée hors des composés monadelphe, etc.
